Macrolane |
Swedish scientists have developed a dermal filler called Macrolane (made by the same company that makes Restylane) specifically for breast augmentation. Made of stabilized hyaluronic acid (similarly to Hylaform), Macrolane is a soft gel-like substance that can be used to correct misshapen breast implants, contour and even add bulk to breasts. This procedure is not permenant - all dermal fillers are eventually absorbed and metabolized by the body. One round of Macrolane breast augmentation should last from 1-2 years. It is reported by Swedish scientists that Macrolane might cost approximately 3,000 to 3,500 Euro for the average breast procedure. Safety is unclear at this point but considering the cost and the amount of time it lasts and the unknown potential complications we would have to recommend that women stay with the herbal, safe alternatives.
